Tools / Adaptive local practice

Type Forge builds touch-typing confidence a few letters at a time. Adaptive lessons start with e, n, i, t, r and s and favor your least-confident letter. A letter becomes confident after twenty correct samples, eight timing samples, ninety-five percent accuracy and your chosen target speed; another letter unlocks when all current letters meet those goals. English words, code and anime vocabulary provide separate free-practice modes. Each lesson ends when you finish the text or its timer expires.

How to get started

  1. Open Settings to choose adaptive letters or a free-practice mode, a duration and a target speed.
  2. Focus the practice text and begin typing. Correct the highlighted character to advance; the timer starts on your first attempt.
  3. Review speed, accuracy, letter confidence and the history trend. Use Next lesson to continue, Export progress to save a local copy, or Reset data to delete local history.

A useful limitation

Relax your hands and prioritize accuracy. Errors stay counted when corrected; backspacing does not inflate speed. Compare completed lessons using the same mode and duration.

What happens to your data

Scoring and lesson generation run in the browser. Completed summaries, per-letter statistics and settings use local storage on this device. The adaptive practice page loads no analytics or advertising script and does not upload keystrokes. There is no account or cloud sync; clearing browser data removes history.

Latest check

Adaptive lesson completion, corrected-error scoring, saved progress, settings and mobile layout were checked in Chrome. Checked October 3, 2026.

This is a dated observation, not a continuous uptime promise. Individual inputs or game sessions may behave differently.
